Some time before the Aegis VII mission, Borges was involved in a terrible mining accident that claimed the lives of fifteen miners and cost Borges his right arm.
An expert engineer and knowledgeable of gravimetric distortions, he joined the crew of the USG O'Bannon as a member of the team assigned to stabilize Aegis VII as the planet started to come apart. Alejandro Borges was one of the four central characters of Dead Space: Aftermath.
